Miki's death:
I did not feel an emotional connection to this character but she meant a hell of a lot to Akira. When the ‘witch hunters’ killed everyone and lastly Miki then stuck her head on that spear, It was heart-wrenching how those once alive and vibrant eyes are now dead and lifeless, not to mention thinking about how crushed Akira’s character would be to see this while on his way to ‘protect’ an already dead Miki. It’s at this point you realise no matter how strong and capable he is now with his new body, he could still be nobody's hero, he couldn't really save anyone this whole series. Not even himself in the end (Then again he was fighting Satan himself).
Miki's friends deaths:
They made an impact because while the witch hunters were after Miki and Miko, Miko had to toss Miki ahead of her to buy Miki some time to get away while they try and slaughter the hell out of Miko, while Miki is running, Miko begs these people to only kill her and leave Miki alone, because Miki is innocent (so is every character that died in episode 9). Miko gave up her life to even have a chance of saving Miki’s and her sacrifice ended up being worthless. While Miki is still running but after Miko was killed, a vehicle holding the rest of her dead friends bodies was seen by Miki, while she internally screams out for Akira to save her like he did back when they were younger. Miko died, trying to save Miki, the rest of their friends died previously in pursuits to protect Miki and Miko. And all of this happens after Miki went on social media to try and clear Akira’s name of being a monster, as well as explain how no matter what he was still human.
Akira's parents deaths:
His parents were never present, but this scene made you want to cry with Akira because you just hope that he can at least safe his father, since his mom was far too dead, but in attempts to make his father fight his demon, he got his father killed. The death of Silene and her right hand man(yes, i'm going there):
I couldn't give a lesser shit on whether she died or not, her death ultimately saved Akira so her dying was kind of convenient, but the circumstances under which she went out were pretty damn sad, her partner gave up his life for Silene to feel the triumph in ending the life of the man who took her past demon lover away from her, but she died right before she could do so, ultimately making his sacrifice just as worthless as Miko’s.
Akira's death:
I cried mainly in his death scene because of Ryo. Ryo/satan had the drive to preserve Akira’s life by making him a devil man, and ultimately accidentally killed that life himself.
It was bitter irony that made that scene so very sad, and the fact that it was Satan's human side that felt, remorse, regret, and grief was what made Ryo the most human his character could have ever been(or at least the most humane Satan could have gotten). The world ended and Satan probably ended up killing all of his pure-devil allies when he caused the destruction of everything, so with Akira no longer in his realm of existence, he was alone in the world that he made, all because his devilish instincts couldn't live without witnessing the calamity that was the fear of humanity.
---Honorable Mention---
Miki’s Mom, Dad, and little brother’s deaths:
I don’t exactly remember why Miki’s mom took the youngest child and fled to a camp, but maybe she did that because she found out her son ate a dog and didn’t want her daughter and husband to die so she sacrificed herself, anyway, it’s not too important why she left, the importance was the fact that she was Miki’s mom who was missing in action. So Miki’s father went off to go and find them and see if he even had a slight possibility of finding them in Japan and not have to leave the country. He finds his son had already transformed and had half of his wife's body in his digestive system(or whatever demon bodies have), did i mention that the father had his gun out and ready to shoot this demon til he realized it was his wife and child. Did i also mention that when he finds them, the demon thing that WAS his son sees his father had witnessed what he had done, he(little boy) was crying, while he was still in the process of devouring the rest of his mother's body, I almost cried. Did i lastly mention that armed law forces came out of nowhere, the father knew that if they saw his “son” and dead wife they would have killed (what used to be) his boy, so he does not get on his knees and put his hands behind his head(like he was told to by the scary people with ak-47s), instead he tries to explain that it isn't what it looks like and they shouldn’t open fire, but they opened fire on him instead because he was still armed and was not cooperating, i am more than sure that they shot his (used to be) son after they shot him.
Anyway, i really hope you at least found this review of the deaths interesting
